Founding Story
How it all began
We are Timm and Jonas, the founders of Johnny Urban. During our studies we lived together in a shared apartment and in 2015 came up with the idea for the ideal city backpack. Simple, fashionable, flexible in use & without unnecessary frills. A year later the time had come and our first rolltop backpack “Adam” was successfully launched. The foundation stone for our “Johnny Urban” brand was laid.
The backpack fever has not let go of us since then. In the meantime, our products are becoming more and more sophisticated in terms of their functions. Together with our team in Hamburg we are working on our vision and developing backpacks and bags for the urban lifestyle. Because there is no single perfect backpack for everyone. Tastes & requirements are different and we are still learning new things every day.
For us, Johnny Urban is a community. We are very happy with the way you bring our products to life and make them yours. We look forward to the further journey of “Johnny Urban” with you.

We want to work with you to find the ideal companion for urban life. In doing so, we want to ignore important topics that concern us all.
For this reason, we support initiatives that set positive accents in their own city as well as those that make our world cleaner. For example, with a backpack donation to local institutions or our long-term cooperation with the MBRC THE OCEAN Foundation, which has set itself the goal of freeing the oceans from plastic waste. We are optimists and believe that everyone has the power to change small things for the better, ultimately triggering greater progress.
